On July 5th The Big Air expo will feature a huge kicker and a massive Acrobag airbag to land on, giving some of the Festival’s world class skaters the chance to safely practice their gnarliest tricks.  For years Acrobag has provided skaters, mountain bikers, skiers, and snowboards a safe tool for learning new tricks.  We are stoked to be partnering with this rider owned and operated company to further their goal of reducing injuries while advancing athletic progression.  Coming down to the Village will guarantee the exciting chance see top skaters showcasing the best of their skills.

On both the 5th and the 6th, the legendary Kevin Harris and his World Round-Up Freestyle Team will be showcasing the best of freestyle skating.  Kevin became Canada’s first pro-skater 1982, going on to be ranked among the worlds top 5 skaters.  A member of both the famous RIPPING SQUAD and the BONES BRIGADE skateboard teams, Kevin is still one of the top competitors in the world today.  It goes without saying that a man of  skills has attracted top talent to a team known for drawing a big crowd and putting on entertaining shows.

Check out the Skate Bowl Jam on July 5th (Friday) at 4PM.  There going to be music, a free bbq, and $500 up for grabs.  Not to mention, the famous Barrier Kult is going to be on sight to tear it up and judge the best trick competition.

So come shred in the Whistler skate and show your skills, or just have a good time watching some killer BC skating talent.  Everyone is welcome!

The WCSS will also be raffling off top quality skate gear.  So keep your eyes peeled for the chance to win big and support a good cause.

The WCSS Summer Camp Fund is designed to help send financially restricted children/youth to summer camp. This program originated in 2011 from a donation given to WCSS by The Troutsmen International Club of Leisure and The Whistler Outdoor Volleyball Association. The idea was to provide an opportunity for children to attend a summer camp of their choice. Since 2011, local youth have participated in a variety of camps including: Sailing camp, Gymnastics, Tennis camp, Easter Seals, Evans Lake camp and Biking camp. WCSS has given 21 families the opportunity to send their children to camp.  They look forward to working with the Whistler Longboard Festival to create more opportunities for kids to participate!

No festival is complete without live entertainment.  So this year we pulled out all the stops to give you some quality acts, which are listed in our festival schedule (found under the Info menu tab).  Both days of concerts will be in the Whistler Olympic Plaza and are FREE to attend.

On Friday the 5^th The English Beat will be playing from 7:30-9:30 PM.

On Saturday the 6^th we are bringing a double header your way, with The Strumbellas and The Trews playing from 7:30-9:30 PM.
